Statement
I am fascinated by naturally occurring lines that can be interpreted in unique ways by the viewer. The lines of tree bark, the curves of pebbles, the pooling of rainwater give shape to my work. I take naturally occurring lines and depict them with the help of shadow and light, exaggerating and minimizing, highlighting and obscuring as I go along. My love for hand pulled prints started with the process of screen printing and etching. I am currently exploring Japanese moku hanga, at times combining it with white line woodblock to explore these different themes.
Most of my prints are based on images that I take with my iPhone X during long, rambling neighborhood walks. I love to see the perpetual in the quotidian. Shifting perspectives of everyday things inform the photographs that I take. I love to capture small insignificant details that I chance upon, because I feel that their very impermanence speaks of the immortality and transmutability of nature.
